VAT returns provide an insight into the business operations as they include information regarding your sales, costs, purchases and other trading activities. These can be downloaded from the HMRC website or extracted from your accountancy software. 

You can find below the 6 steps needed to download your VAT returns:

Step 1: Go to the HMRC website

Step 2: Login using your Government Gateway credentials and Password

Step 3: When logged into HMRC, go to the 'Online VAT' section

Step 4: Once on 'Online VAT', click on the submitted returns section

Step 5: Click on the returns that you wish to download

Step 6: Now you can download the selected Returns in a PDF format
