How iwocaPay works with Xero

After your Xero account is linked to iwocaPay you can automatically include a ‘pay with iwocaPay’ button on new Xero invoices straight from Xero - it's powered by your Universal pay link.

You won’t need to create pay links in your iwocaPay dashboard and they’ll automatically appear here after your customers click the checkout button on your Xero invoice. Once an invoice is paid with iwocaPay it will be automatically recorded in Xero and updated in your iwocaPay dashboard.

Connecting your iwocaPay account to your Xero account

Things you’ll need to link iwocaPay to Xero

Before you get started its worth checking a few things your Xero account, the main two are things you’ll be using to link Xero to iwocaPay are:

Once you’re ready head over to your iwocaPay dashboard click on the ‘link with Xero’ button in the top right. Then tap the ‘Link iwocaPay with Xero’ button at the bottom of the introduction screen to get started.

Link your iwocaPay account to your Xero account

  1. Read through the short explanation on how we use your data and click ‘Connect your Xero account’

  2. You’ll be redirected to your Xero account to authorise the connection. To do that just log in if you aren’t already. If you have more than one account you’ll be able to find the one you want in the drop down.

Confirm the Xero account you’d like your iwocaPay payments recorded in

  1. Just pick the account you want from the drop down - or add a new one - and hit ‘confirm’.

Choose the invoice branding theme

  1. Pick the branding themes you’d like to add the ‘Pay by iwocaPay’ button to and hit ‘confirm’ - if you like you can add it to more than one.

You can unlink your Xero account from your iwocaPay account from your iwocaPay dashboard.

  1. Hit the ‘Linked with Xero’ button in the top right - here’s where you can check or update any details.

  2. If you still want to un-link the accounts click ‘I’d like to un-link Xero’

Once you un-link it’ll remove iwocaPay as a payment option from all your invoices - even ones you’ve already sent out.

If you’d like to remove iwocaPay as an option from a specific invoice, just use a different branding theme that isn’t linked to iwocaPay or from your Xero account by following these steps.

How to update your linked payment account

To update your linked payment account, you'll need to re-link your Xero account.

  1. Hit the 'Linked with Xero' button in the top right

  2. Click 'I'd like to un-link Xero' to un-link your account

  3. Once you've unlinked, click 'Link with Xero' in your Seller dashboard and re-link your account

  4. You'll then be able to select a different payment account

How to update your linked invoice branding theme

To update your linked branding themes, you'll need to do this in Xero or re-link your Xero account to iwocaPay.

Here's how to change which branding themes have iwocaPay on them in Xero.

Here's how to re-link your Xero account.

  1. Hit the 'Linked with Xero' button in the top right

  2. Click 'I'd like to un-link Xero' to un-link your account

  3. Once you've unlinked, click 'Link with Xero' in your Seller dashboard and re-link your account

  4. You'll then be able to add new branding themes linked to iwocaPay. It'll remember which themes you previously linked, so you'll need to remove any you don't want.

If you don’t see the invoice theme you want hit ‘Add a theme in Xero’ to add it. Once it’s added into Xero you’ll be able to see it here in the drop down when you click the arrow.
